North Idaho is filled with stunning scenery, pristine
lakes, world-class ski resorts, top-ranked golf courses, and
other activities to keep you energized and in shape year
round.
North Idaho has maintained a steady growth rate since the
1970's. Sandpoint’s past economy was once dependent on the
timber industry - this is quickly changing as the logging
techniques are progressing towards a more
environmental-friendly, "re-growth" attitude. Most of the
economic growth has taken place outside the city limits, so
we still preserve acres of unspoiled scenery. We are proud
to say that the newcomers have brought their skills,
energies, ideas and abilities to the lakes and mountains of
the panhandle.
Bonner County is now a booming tourist area, both for summer
and winter activities. We at Maiden Rock enjoy sharing the
awesome beauty of north Idaho with new residents and locals
alike. Vacation properties are still very affordably priced.
Most newcomers to north Idaho are looking for a slower pace,
and a place to take a deep breath and relax. We even have
bumper stickers that say: "Slow Down - You're in Idaho Now!"
